New Moon soundtrack rumors resurface
UPDATE: E! News has posted an article about this story as well. They spoke to a rep at Summit who says there are no plans to use it.
Rumors about the New Moon soundtrack are starting to surface again. The newest rumor involves self professed Twi-Hard Kelly Clarkson. Her song “Did you” has recently been leaked online and is rumored to be on the New Moon soundtrack. The New York Post’s PopWrap doesn’t hold this rumor to be credible. The fact that Kelly Clarkson is not on Stephenie Meyer’s play list is one of the reasons they think the rumor is false.

nooooooooo kelly clarkson is absolutely WRONG for twilight! they should be getting some relatively unknown like indie/alt/rock groups or something! not this pop crap!
Comment by sofia — 05/06/2009 @ 1:12 pm
No! Not her!!!!!!!!
Comment by Callie — 05/06/2009 @ 1:14 pm
this song is horrible!
are they trying to ruin new moon?
Comment by sophie — 05/06/2009 @ 1:15 pm
I actually tried listening to the entire song and it didn’t work for me. I was literally cringing during the song. Why are these pop stars trying to go all dark for new moon. Stick to what you know and New Moon will pick up the right artist!
Comment by Shelby — 05/06/2009 @ 1:38 pm
ok..i like kelly clarkson, she is talented..but PLEEEASE no American Idols or Disney kids on the sound track – please! They’ve had their chance at stardom..give other no namers who are equally talented, have a chance.
Comment by Maese4Cullens — 05/06/2009 @ 1:39 pm
What the Hell! What’s with all of the pop stars lately!
Comment by jake — 05/06/2009 @ 1:50 pm
No way! Keep to indies. Steph’s music is the way to go.

Comment by twedwards — 05/06/2009 @ 2:18 pm
I do not want her to be on the soundtrack.
Comment by Rachel Elizabeth — 05/06/2009 @ 2:20 pm
okay guys, chill out a little bit. this is just a rumor. plus, if you read the comments, the song is 2 years old, or something. so she didn’t make it specifically for new moon. just trust that the people making new moon will pick the right songs.
Comment by jen — 05/06/2009 @ 2:34 pm
Hell no! I like her I guess but pleaseeeeee no disney channel stars or American Idols like reallyt. It would just give the movie/soundtrack/the book a cheesy feel, I think. But thats just me lol. If it were up to me it’d be a no-brainer. Nooooo! And btw don’t tell me to chill missis I’ll over react if I wants to. Even tho you weren’t talking to me directley the comment still is about me technically. So yeahh
Comment by Jennifer Pardy — 05/06/2009 @ 2:42 pm
the song is a left over from “my december” her second album. i kind of liked it, but i dont want it on the soundtrack all the same.
Comment by Kathy — 05/06/2009 @ 2:45 pm
there’s a thread in the forum about the New Moon soundtrack and this was mentioned so i listened. it’s okay. i didn’t like the chorus. and someone mentioned that it drags and i agree.
i’m glad that it’s just a rumor and not official. i’m not going to get too worked up about the soundtrack until the official track listing is released. then if i have a problem, i’ll complain.
Comment by molly — 05/06/2009 @ 2:46 pm
kelly clarkson is an amazing singer. Though i havent heard that song yet i still think tha kelly clarkson will do good if she is on the soundtrack. though i would like to aree with one of the other comets i think “haunted” would be perfect for neww moon.

wow people
chill
haha
it really is just a rumor
Comment by Emily — 05/06/2009 @ 2:58 pm
I like Kelly Clarkson’s music, but is not right for the New Moon sountrack or any other movie of the saga, too pop.
I agree with Maese4Cullens: no American Idols or Disney kids on the soundtrack!
Comment by Marcia — 05/06/2009 @ 3:00 pm
Good, no plans to use it……let’s hope they don’t try to “commercialize” the soundtrack or movie. And if we protest enough in the comments, they just might pay attention and realize how truly lame it is to include sappy, over dramatic songs with poor singing.
And this is coming from a person who likes Kelly Clarkson – just NOT that song.
Comment by Cleigh — 05/06/2009 @ 3:01 pm
I didn’t like the song for new moon. It just didn’t seem to fit in the story. Also it is just a rumor! I loved the twilight soundtrack and paramore in it. The soundtrack had such a different feel to it then other movie soundtrack and i think that is one of the original reasons why the soundtrack did so well and by adding all these pop singers like Kelly Clarkson doesn’t feel like a mysterious vampire love story that would fit in well with the movie.
Comment by Maddie — 05/06/2009 @ 3:05 pm
what’s next, Miley Cyrus or Demi Lovato. i dont have anything against Kelly, but whats the whole craze with these amatuer pop stars wanting a bite of new moon. would they have done this if Twilight hadnt been successful. Puhleeze. Publicity stunts much?
Comment by naomi c — 05/06/2009 @ 3:12 pm
Aww, this song made me cry. Because right now im re reading New Moon, & Im at the really sad/mad part.

Seriously people, chill. I swear, this fandom reacts too fast to RUMORS.
Maybe you guys haven’t heard the past few records Kelly has put out. There are some darker songs on there and she does them really well.
Plus, why does the soundtrack have to have “dark” artists on it?
And it wouldn’t be commercializing the soundtrack to add artists like her since her songs are played on the radio and MTV. If no one knows, Paramore /was/ on MTV and the radio for a brief period of time, and Linkin Park has been in the limelight for a while.
I don’t understand why everyone is reacting in this way. =/

NO!
Comment by Stephanie — 05/06/2009 @ 5:10 pm
ok so far I have not been too offended by criticsm of singers rumored to be considered for the “New Moon” soundtrack but by the looks of all the negative stuff I hear regarding these singers I just hope an artist that I really, really like- The Backstreet Boys for example don’t receive so much hate. I would be saddened to see a bunch of hate regarding them.
Comment by Naveena — 05/06/2009 @ 5:25 pm
whats up with these american idol people being rumored to be on the soundtrack? i know chris weitz said he wanted to hear different music and was open to something new but this song does not work for me.
Comment by carina — 05/06/2009 @ 5:30 pm
I’m almost positive this will stay a rumor.
The soundtrack isone of the LAST things in a film to be finished (Specially MuggleCast’s interview with the guy that composed Goblet of Fire… he had about a month to finish before the movie came out, or something like that).
So everyone… take a chill pill, please. You all know it’ll be indie bands that isn’t super mainstream.
Comment by Abbey O. — 05/06/2009 @ 5:58 pm
i love kelly, but i don’t think she would fit with new moon.
Comment by nicole — 05/06/2009 @ 6:14 pm
Rumors, rumors. Yuck! At least she’s a fan. I’m assuming she’s read the books.
Comment by Leia — 05/06/2009 @ 6:35 pm
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Comment by Rae — 05/06/2009 @ 7:15 pm
I listened to the whole song and it does drag on and the chorus is very blah. I think that the music that is selected for the movie will be done with lots of thought put into it. Its a dark movie and the whole series is intense which requires the same in music. I have faith in the music director and will wait until the play list comes out for the soundtrack.
Comment by Crystal — 05/06/2009 @ 8:29 pm
Although i think this song is a horrible idea for New Moon, Kelly Clarkson does have some songs that might fit like haunted, hear me, or maybe.
Comment by Elaine — 05/06/2009 @ 8:54 pm
Like Sofie said keep it INDIE!!! Like the first album!
Comment by blake — 05/06/2009 @ 9:11 pm
NO! What the HELL is up with all the rumors about pop artists being on the soundtrack? That’s horrible.
Comment by Elizabeth — 05/06/2009 @ 9:36 pm
And yes, I did listen to the song before I reacted. It doesn’t fit. At all. Hey, d-bags in charge of music selection? Check out SMeyer’s playlists for a change.
Comment by Elizabeth — 05/06/2009 @ 9:38 pm
I think I got through the first 20 seconds before just stopping it. It’s not a new moon type song, in my opinion
Comment by Steph — 05/07/2009 @ 3:54 am
Well, that’s wasn’t any good. I like Kelly but that song is just, not. If they really want to use her I suggest Ivrin ( I think that’s how you spell it) it’s not pop, at all. It’s haunting and sad. =)
Comment by Maddie — 05/07/2009 @ 6:39 am
What’s with american idol and new moon?
Justin Guarini’s song is better!
I love Kelly Clarkson though!
Comment by Caitlin — 05/07/2009 @ 7:51 am
i HATE it. i really hope they don’t put it on the soundtrack, it doesn’t sound like Kelly Clarksons type of music! awful and really dislike the repetitive chorus! NO
Comment by Nicky — 05/07/2009 @ 10:52 am
This song is good and everything but it doesnt really tie in with twilight….
Comment by pa0la — 05/07/2009 @ 9:01 pm
