New Moon Comic Con panel wrap up

The New Moon panel at Comic Con ’09 just wrapped up and there was LOTS to be seen! For starters, Summit released two new scenes from the film:

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT

- the first one was when Bella gets on the motorcyle for the first time. Bella gets on the bike, Jacob is adjacent to her. He’s teaching her how to clutch and hold the breaks. As she starts to understand he lets go. He tells Bella to let off the clutch, when all of a sudden you see ghost Edward reach down and clutch one of the handles on the bike. Bella reacts and Jacob says “What’s wrong?”. Bella replies “nothing” and gets rolling. When Bella is riding there are flashes of Edward. She crashes, starts to bleed, and then Jacob takes off his shirt to stop the bleeding.

- the second one goes right into the chase. Bella is twitching and freaking out the entire time while Alice is driving with a scarf on her head. They zoom past lots of red cloaked figures. Bella wonders what’s up and Alice explains it’s St. Marcus Day. Bella gets stopped multiple times to find the clock tower. She stops at the water fountain and finally sees Edward. She scrambles, and sees Edward between two huge doors. His shirt is slightly unbuttoned. You see Bella run with full force in slow motion. She does a heroic jump when she leaps into the fountain while yelling “No Edward don’t! No!”. You see a shot of Edward’s foot and a bit of sunlight. As his foot gets just an inch away from the sun light, it suddenly cuts to “NEW MOON”.

Director Chris Weitz and stars Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Ashley Greene were on the panel and answered lots of questions from the audience. Chris Weitz commented on the feel of the movie: “The book expands massively from the first to the second. So the key thing was to keep that all cohereent and faithful to the book. To make something grand and beautiful out of this book.”

The clips aren’t on youtube yet but I’m sure they will be… Everything gets leaked on there.. usually I’d feel bad BUT for New Moon clips! I’m excited haha

Cant wait to see them all over youtube♥ soooo excited. this will defiantly be teh best movie yet!

I’m still extremely disapponted in the fact that they wouldn’t answer the big gossip question on whether they’re dating. Honestly, I could care less (it’s their lives), but I can’t stand secrets and it just promotes more gossip. If they aren’t dating, just say it, they’ve said it before. If they are, just say it and stop all the gossip. But by ignoring it, you’re almost admitting it and then all the pics have Kristen leaning against Robert. I mean, how much more gossip are they looking for…at this point, they are creating the gossip by how they’re handling it. Seriously, if I wasn’t dating then I’d just flat out say it…there’s no reason to hide.

PS and I hope someone didn’t listen and recorded the vids…I’d love to see it. Nov 20th is too darn far away

I believe they will be posted on the official new moon website. Their is a link that says “Movie Clips (coming soon)”. But i dont know when that will be

I hope that the official website will post clips in their video section! I keep checking…

omg!!!!! at first i thought having Edwards apperitions were going to mess evrything up…but now i think it was a good idea!!!!! i cant wait till New Moon comes out!!!

you will probly be able to see it on newmoonthemovie.com cuz if u click ‘media’ then ‘videos’ theres a button that says ‘film clips’ and it says coming soon. i would think it would be posted there soon… but i hope someone broke the rules lol and taped it

Someone, I’m pretty sure it was the Twilight Lexicon, posted on Twitter that they were very strict about not letting people film while the clips were showing. So, unless they were lying or some people were very discreet and sneaky, we won’t be seeing these scenes until November 20.

I have heard that people were NOT allowed to take any videos of the clips!! Unless Summit releases them we may not see them. In light of that I especially appreciate you posting such a detailed description of them.

There’s supposed to be a new trailer coming out in August, so perhaps we’ll see some of these scenes then.

omg i wanna see the clips!!! the second one most of all…i could be in that one! i was in montepulciano as an extra and i was just behind bella when she was running to reach edward!!
anyway,even though people were not allowed to film the scenes,i’m sue they had. in italy too we were not allowed to bring cel phones or to film,but you can find on the net almost all of the kiss scene^^

The fact that they didn’t make a comment on whether they’re dating or not speaks volumes. You can assume, if they wouldn’t allow those questions to be asked, that they are in fact dating. JMO, of course. So very excited for New Moon!

I think Rob and Kristen private life is just that private. They have so little privacy they should not be expected to expose any personal relationships. Nothing they say would stop the gossip, whether they are dating or not.

Okay so who else thinks that its really unfair that the only people that get to see the clips are the people that go to Comic-Con. Some of us can afford to go to but we’re still fans and we still want to see the clips.

I think that the clips are gonna be the “super special sneak peek” on the previews for the movie Bandslam!!!

I was at Comic Con! They were very strict about not letting anyone take videos…btw, the clips are AMAZING! SOOOOO much better than Twilight, Chris Weitz is an awesome director, really!

ive been watching everything i can on youtube! and i swear im laughing in hysterics everytime because i wouldve wanted to be there and just everything sounds great the CLIPS!! omg im slightly jealous of anyone who saw them(okay maybe extremely) but cant wait for them to be leaked! ugh i feel bad i want them to be leaked but come on! im a desperate twilight fan here! lol

just watched the clips on youtube, they are great and what I imagined from reading the book. I like what they did with Edward in the first clip too

these ones seem a lot lighter than the other ones on youtube and stay full screen! so happy now ive seen these!!
