Wo… I guess they did make the decision without her consent. The other article from before, made it sound that it was a mutual understanding, because of scheduling issues. That’s too bad.

I really like Rachelle for Victoria, so it will be strange to see a new person play her.

Man, I can’t even imagine how awkward the press junkets are going to be for her, by the time New Moon hits theaters later this year. Blah, I feel for her, she really loves her fans, and her character.

that’s ridiculous. ten days? they can’t work around TEN days? i feel so bad for her. she loves Victoria. and Twilight. i’m more upset now than i was at first. that’s crazy.
did they learn nothing from the whole Jacob possible recast debacle? i mean, really.
i feel horrible for her. that’s something that totally could’ve worked around. you would think that they would. because she’s been in the previous two and eclipse is the last one with her. and it’s not even like she’s in it the whole time. they could’ve shot her scenes around her schedule.

I have a feeling they probably wanted Bryce Howard for a while now and they saw an opportunity and they jumped at it. I really like Rachelle as Victoria it’s really a shame they did her this way. If I was Bryce I wouldn’t accept the role because of it. I wonder who will be replaced next.

Eclipse is turning out to be a crappy movie… and it’s just in pre-production!

First, we have a director that acts like he could care less about the series and the fans.

Secondly, replacing actresses…

Whatever. Better enjoy New Moon while it’s here, it’s probably going to be the best movie, and made by the best director.

I agree to an extent. There are always two sides to any issue. However, that being said, Summit has ginormous dollar signs in their eyes. They do not care about much except that, and their previous actions have shown that. The twilight franchise is just that: a juggernaut that poops massive amounts of cash. However upset fans might be, many who cry foul will be in line for tickets as soon as they come out. They’re greedy, but we’re addicted.

Wow, this is story of how a small studio gets a big head! First, the were about to screw the series recasting Jacob’s role. Thank goodness for Taylor’s dedication and commitment to keep his role.

Now, Rachelle gets screwed! And they manage to keep it silenced! Dick move, Summit. Stupid and unnecessary. One would think that a day overlap would have less wait that preserving the integrity of the Series.

Couldn’t they coordinate schedules? Harry Potter works with stars of huge names and still manages to get them on calendar!

i would not be surprised, when they see just how wrong their goof up is (because clearly rachelle should not be replaced), they offer her the part back. (at least i pray they do.) i just can’t see why they would do such a thing… i mean they kept jacob and he had to flight to keep his part… and if my memory is right, it was because mr. director chris liked him too. that’s why i think the director was the one who wanted to replace rachelle.

The reason they accommodated Cam in Twilight was because Catherine was willing to do that or else he would have been replaced. Taylor kept his job because Chris liked him, so maybe there’s more to this story that we don’t know about.

I am so unhappy after reading Rachelle’s response. The first thought that came to mind was that Summitt is trying to increase their popularity/power by casting the more well known actress Bryce Dallas Howard. I think they must have wanted her for a while now and were planning all of this behind Rachelle’s back.

I agree with Black – this a dick move. I don’t see how they could possibly think that this would be okay with the fans.

Eclipse is probably my fave book of the series and I am starting to get really worried about it. Boy they are certainly going to have to do a lot of damage control, what with this and David Slade……if Eclipse sucks I’m just going to be so sad.

That is the most childish statement I have ever read issued by a large corporation. It sounds as if it was written by a snotty 13 year old.

As far as their comments regarding “missing rehearsal time” I have only 2 points to make:

1. This is NOT a new character to Rachelle. She has played Victoria in TWO previous films. I thinks she’s got it down.

2. As I mentioned in point 1, she has done two previous Twilight Saga movies. This would mean that she has worked with the cast TWICE.

Well I have just read each and every comment left in response to this post on Rachelle’s departure before Eclipse… and I can’t believe that I am the first of all of you to feel bad for Summit!

I really liked Rachelle, she’s a great actress and as she is in twilight and new moon it will be weird to adjust to watching someone else play her role as Victoria….

BUT! It is business and she broke the terms of her contract! If it’s true that she kept the details of her schedule for ‘Barney’s Version’ quiet for as long as she could and tried to ignore the overlap in filming.. it is her fault! And she hasn’t really got a leg to stand on..

As for the comment above which said “there is no legitimate reason to recast her”.. lol well actually there is, she isn’t forfilling her part of the deal and as she cannot be in Europe and Vancouver to film at the same time.. they had no choice but to find someone else to play her role!

I will miss her as Victoria but I don’t feel sorry for her… Her agent needs to be shot for allowing this filming conflict to occur in the first place! So stop blaming Summit… they woudlnt have recast if they didnt have to! They have said in the press before that they liked Rachelle in the role… so really it is her that’s left them in the lurch and not the other way round!

Summit seem to almost want the fans to hate them – I hope this the only re-casting they’re going to do, I’ll be sad to see any other characters go.
But if they do, hopefully they’ll let the actors actually know first before they decide to.

Rachelle’s portrayel of Victoria is one of my favorites in the movie. I hardly think that 10 dsys is SUCH a conflic. I am sure they could film around her, and have the rest of the scenes shot.

I hardly doubt, that she knowingly would NOT do Eclipse, it’s ALL about Victoria in Eclips.

It just goes to show you, that creativity and Hollywood, do not go hand in hadn. This little Studio is pissing me off. Eclipse is going to be crapola. I don’t like the director, and now this?!?!?

There are so many ways to avoid this… Wait til it comes out on DVD even bootleg it if need be.

Studio’s like this make me sick. Last week when i went to go see Harry Potter, i was astonished how every actor remain on the series, and you saw them grow up, and you felt like you KNEW them… and that is from a HUGE Studio like Warner Broz.

As mentioned before, enjoy New Moon, it may be the last movie i will probably be seeing.

New Moon’s the last movie I’m watching from Twilight Series now thank you summit. Hopefully someone will come out with another great movie series like Harry Potter.
