Garrett makes his appearance near the end of Breaking Dawn, when he joins the Cullens to stand up against the Volturi. He is a nomad from around the time of the American Revolution. During his stay in Forks, however, he quickly falls in love with Kate and begins to consider becoming a "vegetarian" vampire.
