Personal History—
Jessica is one of the first Forks students to speak to Bella on her first day of class. It is Jessica who invites Bella to sit with her at lunch, and then divulges the story of the Cullens to her. (Twilight, pg. 22) Bella frequently attempts to push Mike’s affections toward Jessica, who harbors a deep crush on him at the time (Twilight, pg. 144). Later, Jessica accompanies Bella and Angela on a trip to Port Angeles to shop for dresses, where Bella encounters a dangerous group of ruffians. During New Moon, Jessica makes another trip to Port Angeles with Bella to see a zombie movie, and this trip strains their relationship, due to Bella’s strange behavior. Afterwards, Jessica gives Bella the cold shoulder until she becomes nostalgic around graduation (Eclipse, pg. 353) and seeks out Bella’s friendship once more.
