Description: Laurent is a lazy vampire, who simply does what is easy for him. He travels with James, because James is powerful. When the time is right for him to leave James, he goes to Denali where that clan protects him, but not before warning the Cullens that James is coming. When Victoria meets back up with him, offering protection and a task, he readily agrees and attempts to help her kill Bella. Laurent does whatever is best for him, often without any thought for others.

Personal History-
Laurent is the third member of James' coven, but simply for convenience. He travels with them from Ontario. When they reach Forks, they hear the baseball game that the Cullen family are playing, and stop by. Laurent steps up as the leader. When James becomes attracted to Bella as his prey, he is embarrassed and warns the Cullens that James is a tracker and will hunt Bella to the end (Twilight, pg. 378, 398, 400).
Greatly interested by the vegetarian life that the Cullens lead, but not wanting to betray James, Laurent heads north to spend time with the clan in Denali (Twilight, pg. 400). He returns later, at Victoria's request, to "get the lay of the land for her," so that she can find Bella more easily(New Moon, pg. 240) However, Laurent is thirsty, and cannot resist Bella's smell. He is chased off and killed by the Quileute werewolves. (New Moon, pg. 310)
