• Description: Paul is noted for being ill tempered and quick to strike. One of the earliest examples of his temper is in New Moon, when Jacob describes to Bella how Paul was offended by something Quil had said, and nearly transformed into a wolf to attack. Only Sam is able to calm him down (New Moon, pg. 174). His temper is illustrated yet again when he learns that Jacob has revealed the truth about the pack to Bella. He instantly transforms and quickly crouches down, “ready to spring” (New Moon, pg. 325.)

  Personal History—

  Paul is among the first three werewolves in the new La Push pack along with Sam and Jared. Jacob and the others notice early on that they begin to hang out with Sam, calling them his “followers” (New Moon, pg. 174.)

  Upon learning that Bella knows of the pack, he begins in outrage, startling even a few of the other pack members (New Moon, pg 325). Later on during events in Eclipse, Bella learns that while Emmett is within boundaries of what Edward calls a “no-man’s land,” Paul gets into a fight with Emmett, but justifies hisactions by saying that had indeed crossed the boundary lines (Eclipse, pg 78).

  In Breaking Dawn, Paul imprints on Jacob’s older sister, Rachel and is present during the confrontation with the Volturi.
