Personal History—

During New Moon, her husband Harry Clearwater, dies of a heart attack that spring, leaving Sue a widow. She then takes Harry's place as a member of the tribal council (Eclipse, pg. 241). At first it does not sink in that Harry has died, and in many ways her reaction is much like Bella’s when faced with trauma.

In Breaking Dawn, Sue attends Edward and Bella’s wedding with Billy Black and her son, Seth. She is also mentioned as spending a lot of time with Charlie Swan, as she takes on a caretaker role towards Charlie when Bella moves out. This leads Bella to suspect that the pair have started a romantic relationship by the end of the saga.
