Description: Tanya is a beautiful “vegetarian” vampire with “strawberry tint in her blond curls” (Breaking Dawn, pg. 53). She is part of the Denali Coven and a close friend of the Cullens.
Personal History—
Throughout the series, Tanya and the Denali coven are a mystery to Bella. Due to her fondness for men, her history with Edward and her inherent beauty from being a vampire, Bella is jealous of Tanya until she gets to know her. Tanya makes her first appearance at the wedding in Breaking Dawn and later on in the same book as a witness of Renesmee’s growth when the Volturi arrive.
Carlisle tells Bella in Breaking Dawn that the Volturi killed Tanya’s mother (the woman who changed her) for creating an “immortal child.” Tanya and her sisters are also behind the succubus myths. “Their fondness for human men eventually led them to feel remorse for their victims, and they slowly trained themselves to resist human blood.”
